Harley-Roxy
Harley and Roxy

These two were saved by volunteer Kathie, who noticed a craigslist ad and quickly responded that we would take them into our program.  What a delightful duo!  We were able to place the siblings together with Karen and David, who are experienced Sheltie people and who are excited to have these engaging and energetic youngsters in their family.
Kookie

In a very rare situation, Kookie's owner surrendered him because his baby is allergic to dogs.  A lovely little Sheltie at 17 pounds, he learned new routines quickly and fit right into his foster home.  After being neutered and vetted, he was adopted by Mary and son Nick, who have lots of Sheltie experience and are thrilled to have his companionship.

Hiwashga

Hiwashga was dearly loved by his owner, who surrendered him only because she could no longer care for him.  An outgoing, loving Sheltie, it didn't take him long to adjust to his foster home, and after being neutered, he was quickly adopted by Jonas, Maria, two children, and a fellow Sheltie named Rocket (another Norcal adoptee).  He goes by the name of Wally and he couldn't be happier.

Sterling

Sterling Blue reports:  Well what a "great" change to go live with Rodger, Sharon and Piper (Nor-Cal sheltie rescue dog 2008).  I have been watching them and figuring out what makes them tick and how we can work together as my new family. It is a blast as every day we bind closer and closer on the daily routines from sun up to sun down. I sleep at the foot of the bed on my red blanket and keep an eye on them all of the time. I have a new name tag with name and new phone number and my new Vet Sandy checked me out and said I am in great shape and have found a very good new home.

Finnick

A young dog, Finnick came to us when his owner was moving and couldn't take him with her.  He transitioned nicely to his foster home, where Lynn fell in love and decided to adopt him.  He's getting lots of attention and exercise and he's a perfect gentleman, with good manners both inside the house and out in public.
Finnick
Gracie

Gracie's owners surrendered her to us when their two babies began crawling and she tried to herd them everywhere.  A very shy but sweet Sheltie, Gracie blossomed under the loving care of foster parents Mike and Loretta, who decided a few weeks later to adopt her.  She's living the good life as the center of attention.

Cooper
Cooper

Due to an illness in the family, puppy Cooper came into our rescue program.  Foster mom Eileen took care of him for a short while, but he was soon adopted by Lisa, Dennis, and granddaughter.  Resembling a red fox, he is a big hit with everyone he meets and is growing into a wonderful companion for the whole family.
Reba
Reba

When we first got Reba, we thought she was ten years old.  Later, we found out she's thirteen!  Adopter Kay never batted an eye and is thrilled to have such a loving and active senior Sheltie!
Gillian
Gillian

Gillian came to us from a shelter, where her owner had surrendered her due to chasing the resident cats.  In foster care, she got along fine with the cat as well as her three Sheltie friends.  A love sponge, she soaks up attention and is perfectly content to be the sole companion for Rosemary.
Buddy VII

Buddy VII's owner was in declining health and wanted to be sure he had the best care possible.  Foster mom Lori did a great job,, helping him to lose some weight and get in peak condition.  Gary and Patricia adopted him as a companion for their female Sheltie, and the rest is history.

Chelsea
Chelsea

Senior citizen Chelsea came into rescue when her owner could no longer take care of her.  She was adopted by Linda, who has a huge heart and loves the mellow nature and sweet temperament of her new companion.
Kirby

Kirby came into rescue when his elderly owner could no longer care for him.  An absolute sweetheart, he charmed everyone around him.  He wasn't in foster care long before Dennis and Dolores adopted him.  He continues to be an excellent Sheltie ambassador, a shining example of affection, intelligence, and activity.

Dylan

Dylan was in foster care for a full year before finding his permanent home with Josh, Sarah, and fellow Sheltie Finlay.  He is a very happy boy now that he's settled in and feeling comfortable.  Kudos to Josh and Sarah for being knowledgeable, patient, and loving in welcoming him into their family!

Summer

As you can see, Summer (on the right) has becomes best buds with her adopted brother, Linus.  Grace tells us that the two are a very happy pair and she couldn't be more delighted.

Shelby

You can see that Shelby is quite content in her forever home, with her new "brother" Cody and adopter Julianna.
Brodie
Brodie (aka BoBo)

Brodie came to us all the way from Taiwan where a local rescue group saved him from starvation.  They got him vaccinated, cleared up his demodex (mange), neutered him, did complete labwork to ensure he was healthy and ready for his long flight to SFO.  Dianne and Tom fostered Brodie teaching him basic manners so that he was ready for his forever home with Mickey and Sue in Wilton.  Mickey plans on training Brodie for agility and spending many happy years earning titles and ribbons.
Gozer
Gozer (aka Van Gogh)

Van Gogh got his moniker due to missing one of his ears just like the famous artist, Van Gogh.  Affectionately nicknamed "Gozer" he charmed his foster caregivers and immediately recognized his adopter, Edith, as his own person the minute they first laid eyes on each other on Gozer's adoption day.
Isabella
Isabella

Another Sheltie rescued from the streets of Taiwan, fostered by Denise in Santa Cruz and adopted by Lester of Reno.  Looks like another match made in heaven!
Ranger

Ranger came in to rescue with sibling Raider.  Fostered and adopted by Steve & Cheri, he loves to play with fellow Shelties Parfait and Bailey, also Nor Cal Sheltie Rescues, and the resident cat, Bundy.  He especially loves it when it snows!

Reba

Reba is settling in nicely. She is an amazing little dog - so friendly and loving. From the first night, she slept soundly on her pad in my bedroom and wakes me up the morning by making little (very soft) sounds. She has a playful nature, too - really amazing for her age of 13. Thank you for all you do for the Shelties - and uniting me with Reba, a real sweetheart.  You are welcome to  stop by and visit us any time.
